We're Leaving!

Yippeee....the day is finally here!  We are leaving for Kazakhstan on Friday.  We will change planes in Frankfurt, Germany and then arrive in Almaty early Sunday morning.  Then we'll take an in-country flight to get to our final destination of Karaganda.  For those of you who followed along with us when we adopted Nathan, that name might sound familiar.  Karaganda is the same city where Nathan was born, and we will be going to the same orphanage as well.  Nathan is making the journey with us, and he is looking forward to seeing all the sweet ladies that took care of him until Mommy & Daddy came to bring him home.

Now to the good part...our children.  Our newest children are a 3 1/2 year old little boy and a 14-month old little girl.  They are biological siblings and, we are told, healthy, but that's about all we know.  (In Kazakhstan, all child information is considered confidential until a family comes to the orphanage.)  We can't even express how excited we are to see them and hold them.  Please pray for our trip...safety, health...and for our first meeting with our precious little ones....that God would prepare them, comfort them, help them understand our presence in ways only He could.  If all goes as planned, we will be meeting them the morning of Monday, February 8.

  8. Denise and I often think about everyone we met while on our journey to adopt Andrei and Vera. Your family will be in our prayers. Andrei still talks about his days at the orphanage, but not as often as before. Keep in touch, I'd like to email a few pictures while you are over there, most likely a few of the caregivers that are working will remember Andrei. Andrei had a special relationship with Badacina (spelling??).
